The concert was great!! Mucho thanks to my friend Rebecca for inviting me. She's a member of the fan club, so she had an earlier chance to buy tickets. We went to the will call window, picked up the envelope and (drumroll) realized that she'd scored first-row tickets!! (Good thing we stopped at the store beforehand and bought ear plugs.)
There was a tiny section of folding chairs in front of us filled with a few dozen VIP's (half of whom sat during the entire show...grrr). But we were about 10 feet or so from the stage. And being a short person, it was great for me to not have someone directly in front of me.
The Peep Show tour is a bit different from previous shows. The play list consists of a lot of B-sides. But they did play some favorites, including a sweet acoustic version of One Week. There was also a Q&A time in the middle of the show, plus a 10-minute intermission. They played 2 encores at the end. In all, the show lasted from about 7:30 to 10:30.
It's great to hear a band and know that it isn't the people in the recording booth who make them sound good. Vocals and instruments sounded true to the original without being boring. And the band has so much fun together, as well as with the audience! Very refreshing to watch. Puts you in a really good mood.
Got home around midnight last night, so I'm dragging this morning. If it starts raining, there's no guarantee that I'll be able to stay awake. :)
