Today is my 11th day without soda. It's not fun.
Back in 1998 I went without soda for a summer. I was in Lake Tahoe on a summer missions project, and our family-style dinners were void of carbonation.
After that summer, I committed to one soda a week. I really didn't miss it. Sometimes I deviate from this rule but, for the most part, I've avoided the one-a-day habit that I developed in high school.
Then, a few weeks ago, we had a party, and we had about 6 Pepsis left over. It all started with one Pepsi for breakfast (it was a bad week, and I don't drink coffee, so it was justifiable). But then I was back to the one-a-day enslavement.
So on November 9 I cut soda out of my diet. I'm trying to go one month without having a soda. So far, so good. But can I make it to December 6? I drive by Sonic, or see someone drinking a Pepsi with their Mexican food, and I go nuts. I can't believe this is so tough. I'll keep you updated on this mundane challenge.
