This has been an interesting morning, to say the least. I was all set to iron a shirt for work, proud that it was only 8:35 and I would have no problem getting to work on time. While I was waiting for the iron to heat up I realized that the puff rising above it wasn't steam. It was smoke. It smelled like the heating element was catching fire. Strange for an iron that was purchased only three months ago. So I unplugged it and stood there wondering what I was going to do if it burst into flames. The smoke continued for about 2 minutes and then dissipated. I then stood around for 15 minutes waiting for the poor thing to cool off so I could throw it in the dumpster.
Late to work again.
But on a good note, last night I enjoyed a trip to Kirby's Steakhouse in Dallas with my family. My mom, dad, grandpa, aunt and I celebrated my mom's birthday with steak and a giant chocolate cake. Couldn't have been better. Check out their menu
