Friday we were driving to a friend's house, and I remembered that the Mega Millions Lottery was up to 290 million. So we stopped at a store and I bought a couple of tickets. On one of the tickets, I spent an extra buck to get the megaplier option. (They draw a 2, 3 or 4, and whatever you win is multiplied by that number, unless you win the grand prize.)

That night, we found out that we had 4 out of the 6 numbers on that ticket. So instead of winning $150, we won $450. Pretty cool!

I have random luck when it comes to gambling and contests. When my parents go to Vegas I give them a few bucks and a roulette number to play for me. Usually they come home with some amount of cash for me. When I was in middle school I went to see the horse races with my family. My dad placed a few small wagers with my picks, and I went home with $65. And in college, when we went to Niagara Falls, I spent 4 or 5 bucks on a slot machine and came away with 175 Canadian dollars' worth of quarters.

So what will we do with our lotto winnings? So far we've spent some of it on the Simpsons Season 4 DVD. I think the rest will go into our Europe Fund.
