Valentine's Schmalentine's
Last night we were supposed to spend a relaxing evening with some friends. Cheese and chocolate - what could be more fun? But my immune system had other plans.
It started Friday with some asthma. Then Saturday it was coughing. Then Sunday morning it was bleah. If you've ever seen the Simpsons episode in which Homer gets sick from eating the sandwich...yeah, that's pretty much how I felt.
So I stayed home and watched 3 movies on network tv. A pretty bad 80s one with Charles Bronson and Wilford Brimley, a cheesy Steven Segal film called Under Seige, and Executive Decision. And I made some progress on the baby blanket I'm knitting for Kevin's sister.
Monday was essentially a repeat of Sunday, except I had a fever. So we stayed home and missed out on Valentine's festivities with our friends.
But the cool thing is that I got to see Kevin acting on his "in sickness" vow. He was so amazing. He ran errands to get food and medicine for me, he went to his boss' house to clean up and pack our stuff (we've been housesitting), and he did laundry. He sat next to me while I rambled incoherently. He didn't complain when my sneezing kept him awake. So even though the day wasn't particulary romantic, he romanced me with his husband skills.
