This week has been trying. I'm finishing up a set of publications that needs to go to the printer by Tuesday. Six months ago, when I was making my project schedule, my understanding was that our big event was scheduled for September. And that date was switched to August - which pushed everything a month earlier and really put a kink in my team's plans. Such is an editor's life. Thank goodness for blogs - a place to write without worrying about grammar, spelling...awwyeah.
The only thing keeping me going, besides God's strength, is the positivity of my endearing team members. They are such fun to work with. We make up a pretty cool geek squad. Hats off to them.
My hubby and I had a great time in San Antonio last weekend. We went to Mi Tierra, an awesome, awesome Tex-Mex restaurant in el Mercado. It was actually listed in Saveur magazine this month as one of the best places to eat. We waited nearly an hour to be seated. But we were able to explore the street's vendors (food and souvenirs) as well as the restaurant's panederia. I had the best praline ever.
I had fun reuniting with old friends there. The trip was a mini-reunion for some folks who spent the summer of 1998 in Lake Tahoe, CA. Funny how you can go 5 years without seeing someone, and pick right back up with funny and warm conversation. I miss them already.
